On Monday (11/16) Jackpot Jessie (Brian Zendt) drew post position four in race eleven at The Meadows.  Pacing third the entire mile, Jackpot Jessie finished as such, her mile in 1:56 flat.

 

In Kentucky at Oak Grove Racing & Gaming, Minnie Vinnie had the eight-hole in race seven.  Charging from the gate, Minnie Vinnie (Tom Tetrick) set the pace, cutting the mile in 27.3, 57.3 and 1:26.2.  As horses turned for home, Minnie held on for third, pacing his mile in 1:56.0 for owners Jesse DeLong, Thomas Carey and Rick Huffman.

 

Over at Yonkers Raceway, also drawing the eight-hole, Slippin The Clutch (Jordan Stratton) was set to compete in race five.  As the race started, Slippin The Clutch was fifth at the quarter-pole.  Pulled to the outside, he worked his way up the field to parked second at the three-quarters.  Still second as they rounded the last turn, Slippin The Clutch hit the board third, his mile in 1:53.3, beaten for it all by a neck.

 

Oh Toodles, with Dan Rawlings in the bike, was in to race at The Meadows on Wednesday (11/18).  Leaving from the five-hole in the opener, Oh Toodles sat sixth until the stretch.  With a last quarter in 29.0, Oh Toodles paced his way to third place in 1:52.3.

 

Race five at Batavia Downs, featured the Open I Trot.  With all positions assigned, CR Blazin Beauty got the three-hole.  Letting the leaders spar for position, CR Blazin Beauty (David McNeight III) sat third until the half.  Making a move, CR Blazin Beauty pulled to challenge Il Mago (Jim Morrill Jr), with only a length between them as they trotted past the three-quarter pole.  Still matching strides, CR Blazin Beauty charged down the lane to a second place finish, trotting in 1:57.3, beaten by a neck.

 

Our next Iowa Graduate raced on Friday (11/20) at Harrah’s Philadelphia.  Shining Jewels (Anthony Morgan) had the five-hole in race three.  With a brisk move to the front, Shining Jewels took the lead as they raced to the quarter.  As Krispy Ginger (Tim Tetrick) took over, Shining Jewels sat in the pocket as they raced around the track.  Coming to the wire, Shining Jewels flew down the lane in 1:53 flat, second by a head, for owners Aimes Racing.

 

Saturday (11/21) at Northfield Park it was all Always B Hanny in race five.  Drawing the five-hole, driver Tony Hall sent Always B Hanny on a mission for the front.  Setting the pace in 27.1, 55.0, 1:23.2, Always B Hanny was in complete command turning for home.  With a last quarter in 28.3, Always B Hanny was victorious in 1:52.0, winning by four lengths.

 

In the Fillies & Mares Open III at Cal-Expo, Bertha Vanation had the outside rail to start the race.  Undaunted by the eight-hole, Nick Roland asked Bertha Vanation to race as the gate folded.  Parked fifth at the quarter, Bertha Vanation didn’t stop there, flying up to take the lead as they reached the half.  Still in front, Bertha Vanation opened up by over a length as she reached the top of the stretch.  Crossing the wire for the win, Bertha Vanation paced home in 1:59.4, last quarter in 29.0.

 

Later in the card, Cal’s Hope (Lemoyne Svendsen) left from the five-hole in race six.  First at the quarter in 29.4, Cal’s Hope sat on the rail as Always Glad (Luke Plano) took over control.  Waiting until the lane, Cal’s Hope charged home in a quick last quarter of 28.4.  Returning to the winner’s circle for owner Roger Roland, Cal’s Hope paced in 2:00.3, winning by four lengths.

 

In race ten, Flash Me Baby (James Kennedy) put in a gallant effort from post position five.  Sixth at the quarter, parked fourth at the half, Flash Me Baby worked her way up to the lead as they reached the three-quarter pole.  Pacing her mile in 2:00.1, Flash Me Baby held on for third.
