Graduate Report 5-2-22 to 5-8-22

Starting off the week for Iowa graduates, Marc In The Box (Allan Davis) had the rail in race five at Harrington Raceway on Wednesday (5/4).  Cutting the mile in 28.1, 57.3 and 1:26.4,  Mark In The Box found Machpheus (Pat Berry) had driven up to challenge.  As they crossed the wire, Marc In The Box was photoed out by a nose, finishing second in 1:55 flat.

 

At Miami Valley Raceway, Toast The Host (Trace Tetrick) drew the seven-hole in race six.  Seventh at the quarter-pole, Toast The Host trotted on the outside up to third as they passed the half.  Parked until the top of the stretch, Toast The Host trotted a last quarter in 28.2 to hit the board for show, her mile in 1:55.4.

 

Cyclone Maximus (Jacob Stillwell) had the rail in race five, the North American Amateur Driving Association condition at Monticello Raceway.  As the gate folded, Cyclone Maximus found himself fifth as they raced to the quarter.  Parked fifth until the three-quarter-pole, Cyclone Maximus passed horses down the lane.  Crossing the wire in third, Cyclone Maximus trotted his mile in 2:02.2.

 

At Rosecroft Raceway, SVF Cash Deposit (John Wagner) raced from post-position five in race two.  Getting away fifth, SVF Cash Deposit drew to the outside, parked fourth at the half.  Parked third at the three-quarters, SVF Cash Deposit was looking to cash in as he raced for home.  Trotting to take the lead, SVF Cash Deposit grabbed the win, the mile in 1:56.1.

 

On Thursday (5/5) Gumbolaya (Dave Palone) competed from the two-hole in race six at The Meadows.  Racing on the rail, Gumbolaya paced third to the quarter, fourth at the half and was sitting fifth past the three-quarters.  Gaining ground at the top of the stretch, Gumbolaya charged down the lane to finish third, pacing in 1:54.4.

 

Legal Liar (Ridge Warren) had the four-hole in race four at The Meadows on Friday, May 6th. Fifth to the half, Legal Liar continued to sit on the rail, racing sixth as he reached the stretch.  Pacing with broken equipment, Legal Liar flew to the finish line, capturing second place for owner Gary Liles, race time in 1:54.2.

 

In the opener at Buffalo Raceway on Saturday (5/7), My Money Honey (Kyle Cummings) had post-position five.  Away first to the quarter,My Money Honey let Bali Beach (Jim Morrill Jr) take over before the half.  With the pocket trip, My Money Honey sat patient until the home stretch.  Pacing hard for the finish line, My Money Honey hit the board for place, beaten by a neck in 1:57 flat.

 

Over to Northfield Park, Jackpot Jessie (Tim Deaton) had the seven-hole in the first race.  Parked seventh to the half, Jackpot Jessie was double parked, trying to avoid a breaker as she raced to the three-quarters.  Fourth as she turned for home, Jackpot Jessie put in a valiant effort to cross the line in third, her mile in 1:56.1.

 

Later in the seventh race, Jumping Jillybean (Billy Davis Jr) competed from the five-hole.  Pushing the gate out of her way, Jumping Jillybean was parked to the quarter-pole.  Finding the rail, Jumping Jillybean settled in behind the leader, Faithful Desire (Ronnie Wrenn Jr).  Tracking the leader as they raced the half-mile track, Jumping Jillybean held off all challengers to pick up a second place check, her mile in 1:55.0.

 

Western Waltz (Braxton Boyd) drew post position seven in race two at The Downs At Mohegan Sun Pocono.  Under a drive, Western Waltz gained the lead as they raced to the quarter-pole.  As Sexy Blue Chip (Tyler Butler) took command, Western Waltz raced in second.  Still second as they turned for home, Western Waltz crossed the wire in third place, his mile in 1:54.2.

 

In the third race at Tioga Downs, Itsonlymoneyhoney (Michael Merton) got away first from the three-hole.  As Believer (Braxten Boyd) took over at the half, Itsonlymoneyhoney waited until the stretch to re-take the lead.  As the finish line drew near, Itsonlymoneyhoney battled Crossfit Mouse (Corey Braden) down the lane.  In the photo, Itsonlymoneyhoney was second by a head, race time in 1:55.2.
