In the third week of 2020, Frisky Pedro (Jason Bartlett) started from the three hole in race two at Yonkers Raceway on Monday (1/13).  Taking quickly to the rail, Frisky Pedro settled into second.  While the field jockeyed for the lead, Frisky Pedro sat on the rail, pushed back to fourth.  As the finish line loomed ahead, Frisky Pedro paced a quick last quarter of 29.4 to place third, his mile in 1:56.2.

On Tuesday (1/14), Iowa horses competed in two divisions of the filly and mare non-winners condition at The Meadows.  Jackpot Jessie (Jerry Kehm) drew the two hole in the first division, race two.  Getting away second, Jackpot Jessie made a move past the half to take over the lead.  But as horses paced towards the wire, Jackpot Jessie was unable to cross first, holding on for third, pacing her mile in 1:59.0.

The second division featured Wx Dontworryboutit (Jim Pantaleano).  With a quick brush out of the gate from the seven hole, Wx Dontworryboutit cruised into third.  Not wanting to be covered up, Wx Dontworrybouit pulled past to the half, to put a head in front.  Taking over the race, Wx Dontworryboutit fought to the finish line, winning by a head in 1:56.2, last quarter in 29.2.

Tuesday evening at Yonkers Raceway, Heavy Handed Hanna (Matt Kakaley) hit the board with her third place performance.  Leaving the gate third, Heavy Handed Hanna stayed the course, beaten by a head by the first and second place horses.  Pacing her mile in 1:57.3, Heavy Handed Hanna put in the fasted last quarter of the race, 29.0.

Al-Mar Humdinger and Always B Hanny put in solid races at The Meadows on Wednesday (1/15).  As she got away third from post position five in race three, Al-Mar Humdinger (Brady Brown) tracked the leaders.  Trotting down the lane in 29.3, Al-Mar Humdinger placed second, her mile in 1:59.3.

As the gate folded in race ten, Always B Hanny (Jim Pantaleano) fired to the top from the eight hole.  Parked to the quarter, Always B Hanny finally got a seat prior to the half behind eventual race winner, Lady Grande (Tony Hall).  Getting the pocket trip, Always B Hanny fought off Rusty Decor (Mike Wilder) as they paced home.  Crossing the wire together, it was a dead heat for second.  Always B Hanny and Rusty Decor both paced the mile in 1:56.0, but Always B Hanny’s last quarter was clocked faster, in 28.4.

Friday (1/17) at Cal-Expo, My Muddy Buddy put in a gritty effort during race four.  Leaving from the six hole, My Muddy Buddy (Braxton Boyd) got away fourth.  Pulling past the half, My Muddy Buddy sat on the outside until the stretch.  Pacing home in 28.3, My Muddy Buddy finished third, his mile in 1:57.2.

Continuing at Cal-Expo on Saturday (1/18), Red N Hotallover started in the middle of the pack in race three.  With Nick Roland sitting in the bike, Red N Hotallover left smartly from post position four to sit second.  Tracking the leader, Brooklyn Moonshine (James Kennedy), Red N Hotallover held on for third, her mile in 1:57.3.  Queen Of Marcs (Dean Magee) also drew into race three, picking up a check by placing fifth.

With the two hole in race six, Diamonds Are Trump (Nick Roland) pushed the gate out of the way to take the lead.  Surrendering her position to Hagginatthebeach (Luke Plano), Diamonds Are Trump sat second as they rounded the track.  Crossing the wire in 1:57.1, Diamonds Are Trump placed a strong second, with a last quarter in 28.0.

On the east coast, Pretty Boy Swag drew the two hole in race eight at Yonkers Raceway.  Pretty Boy Swag (Matt Kakaley) cruised the mile behind Blood Line (Jason Bartlett).  Down the stretch, as Blood Line pulled away from the field, Rockathon (Jim Marohn Jr) paced up to challenge Pretty Boy Swag.  As they crossed the finish line, Pretty Boy Swag grabbed third, pacing his mile in 1:54.3, last quarter 28.2.
