Humboldt, IA (August 12, 2018) – Winners in five of the seven Iowa-Registered 3-year-old feature races reached or matched their lifetime marks on the speedy half mile oval at the Humboldt County Fairgrounds on Sunday.

In the first division of 3-year-old trotting fillies Lo All America had a slow start getting off the gate and trailed the field at the quarter. From there the American Native filly began steadily picking off the competition until edging to the front at the three-quarters. Lo All America trotted away from the field coming home in 2:04.4, shaving two seconds off her previous lifetime mark. The Iowa-sired filly is owned, trained and driven by Lorenza Gooch.

The second division of trotting fillies went to Ima Juggernaut in a wire-to-wire performance. The 3-year-old Lou’s Legacy filly dropped her personal best to 2:02.1. Ima Juggernaut, the 2017 champion trotting filly, is trained and driven by Mark Mintun. She remains undefeated in Iowa-Registered racing in 2018 for owners Mintun and Stephanie Gould.

WaWaWaWhat found the winners circle for the first time this year in the second division of pacing colts. Trained by John Saner, the Whats Up Now colt sat at the back of the pack waiting to make his move until driver Jason Telfer tipped him four wide coming into the head of the stretch. WaWaWaWhat went from last to first, charging up the outside to steal the win. The 3-year-old took a new lifetime mark of 2:03 for owners Jason and James Telfer.

Starting from the second tier can be a daunting task, especially racing on fair tracks in Iowa’s 3-year-old pacing colt divisions. SB Angelindisguise and driver Mark Mintun made this challenging obstacle look like a minor inconvenience, matching the gelding’s previous mark of 1:57.3 in the fastest mile of the day. The Sneaky B Skipalong colt paced away from the field in a 29 second stretch run on his home track. SB Angelindisguise is owned by Mintun, Stephanie Gould and Bigshow Racing Stable.

Also racing on her home track, Red N Hotallover hadn’t found the winner’s circle since the opening meet at Humboldt in early June. Driver Cory Larson rated the Ryan N Hanover filly until the final turn when the pair tipped three wide to breeze past the field in 2:01.3, taking over one second off Red N Hotallover’s previous lifetime mark. The 3-year-old pacer is owned and trained by Edmund Krapp.

Coming off a win at Sioux Center last week, I’m On A Terror teamed up again with driver Will Roland to take the second division of 3-year-old pacing fillies. The pair sat in the pocket until the final turn, maneuvering out to take the lead then holding off a late charge by Bunkerhill Jill to win in 1:58.3. I’m On A Terror is trained by Justin Anfinson and owned by Brian Anfinson and Jesse Delong.

Scramble Camp made the pick-a-winner crowd nervous, sitting in second or third for most of the race. The heavily-favored top 3-year-old trotting colt seemed in no hurry until the final turn when driver Dan Roland eased him out to take the lead and cruised to victory in 2:01.1. Scramble Camp is owned by Jeri Roland, Robert Davis, CD Huffman and Larry Mather.

Racing action resumes at Humboldt on Saturday, August 18 with Iowa-Registered 2-year-olds returning to the track. Post time is 12:30.
