Dabigspooky Bootah started off the week for Iowa grads in race ten at Dover Downs.  Having the rail, Dabigspooky Bootah (Victor Kirby) stayed in position, letting the sprinters fight over the lead.  Sitting third at the half, Dabigspooky Bootah sat smartly, protecting the rail.  As horses fanned across the lane, Dabigspooky Bootah neatly picked up third, her mile in 1:58.2.

 

At Saratoga Harness, Duane’s Cookie (Larry Stalbaum) looked for a sweet ending to race four.  After getting away fifth from the three-hole, Duane’s Cookie sat fifth through the first half of the mile.  Following cover, Duane’s Cookie made his move as they raced past the three-quarter-pole.  Third at the top of the lane, Duane’s Cookie trotted home in 31.4, placing second for owner Duane Roland, his mile in 2:04.4

 

In the Sunshine State on Tuesday (11/16), Ricky Be Sharp (Dale Hiteman) was wearing the grey saddle pad for post position eight in race three at Pompano.  Racing from the back of the back, Ricky Be Sharp waited until the stretch to find racing room.  With a last quarter of 29 flat, Ricky Be Sharp flew across the line to hit the board for third, trotting his mile in 1:56.3.

 

At Saratoga Harness, Battle Queen (Jim Devaux) drew the nine-hole in race one.  Squeezing up the rail, Battle Queen was fourth at the quarter-pole.  Pulling to the outside as they raced past the half, Battle Queen sat parked third.  As the leaders raced head-to-head, Battle Queen trotted for third place, her mile in 2:00.1.

 

Over to The Meadows, also sporting a grey saddle pad, Shirley Skip Shady (Aaron Merriman) didn’t waste any time as the gate folded.  Charging for the lead, Shirley Skip Shady set the pace, cutting the mile in 28.0, 58.0 and 1:26.3.  Holding a firm lead, Shirley Skip Shady cruised across the finish line, ahead of the field by five lengths, pacing her mile in 1:55.3.

 

In race eight, Nutter Butter (Dave Palone) shot from the six-hole to take the lead.  With fractions of 29.0, 59.1 and 1:28.3, Nutter Butter was up by a head as they turned for home.  Beaten by a length, Nutter Butter held on for second, her mile in 1:57.4.

 

Next up, Always Choose Chip (Aaron Merriman) also drew the six in race nine.  Impeded, double-parked, Always Choose Chip still managed to gain the top as they raced to the quarter.  Finally making the rail, Always Choose Chip set the pace in 28.1, 58.0 and 1:26.1.  With a commanding lead as she rounded the last turn, Always Choose Chip was the best of the rest, crossing the line in 1:54.2, winning by thirteen lengths.

 

Freddie Faves (George Brennan) had the rail in race three at Yonkers Raceway.  The pocket trip turned into second place as Freddie Faves hit the line, pacing his mile in 1:53.3.

 

Wednesday (11/17) at Monticello Raceway, CR Blazin Beauty (Brandon Parker) got away seventh from the eight-hole in the Open Trot, race seven.  Sitting at the back of the back, CR Blazin Beauty bided her time.  Finally, as horses fanned across the stretch, CR Blazing Beauty found room to race.  With a burst of speed, CR Blazin Beauty battled Miss Muscle (Michael Merton) to the wire.  Nosed out of first, CR Blazin Beauty picked up second, her mile in 1:59.3.

 

A pair of graduates hooked up in race two at The Meadows.  SV Tymal’s Image (Bryce Brocklehurst) drew the three-hole and Lone Star Tap (Aaron Merriman) the two.  Lone Star Tap trotted out to third, while SV Tymal’s Image settled into fifth as horses raced to the quarter.  With a brush to the front, Lone Star Tap gained the lead as they passed the half-way point.  Still leading at the three-quarters, Lone Star Tap took the field around the final turn.  SV Tymal’s Image had found another gear, up to challenge Lone Star Tap as they trotted down the lane.  In the photo, it was SV Tymal’s Image by a head for the win, Lone Star Tap second, their race time in 1:58.4.  Paying a whopping $40.40 to win, the Iowa exacta paid out $125.80.

 

Foolstown (Ridge Warren) had the six-hole in race three.  Sitting fourth as horses raced around the track, Foolstown worked his way up to third as they turned for home.  Finishing third, Foolstown paced his mile in 1:57 flat.

 

With a four-hole draw, Bowl Of Ice (Shawn Johnston) drifted out sixth as she reached the quarter-pole in race seven.  Fourth on the outside at the half, Bowl Of Ice worked her way up to second as she reached the three-quarter-pole.  Trotting to the wire, Bowl Of Ice hit the board for third, her mile in 1:59.2 for Aimes Racing.

 

Exhibition Day (Ridge Warren) raced from post-position two in race nine.  Tracking the leaders in third, Exhibition Day waited until the stretch drive to make his move.  Trotting a last quarter in 29.1, Exhibition Day finished second, his mile in 1:56.4.

 

In race eleven, It’s So Fluffy (Ridge Warren) was driven hard from the five-hole only to find herself parked third at the quarter.  Gaining the rail in second, It’s So Fluffy held position as they raced to the top of the lane.  Crossing the wire second, It’s So Fluffy trotted her mile in 1:57 flat.

 

On to Yonkers Raceway, Almost Karen (George Brennan) looked to compete in race two.  Driving up to second from the four-hole, Almost Karen dropped into the pocket.  Sitting pretty behind the leader, Almost Karen was still second around the final turn.  In tough competition, Almost Karen hit the board for show, pacing in 1:55.4.

 

At Harrah’s Hoosier Park on Thursday (11/18), Western Waltz (John DeLong) cruised out of the two-hole to take the lead in race six.  Setting the pace in 27.4, 57.1 and 1:27.1, Western Waltz relinquished his position as he raced through the final turn.  Crossing the line in 1:56 flat, Western Waltz held on for second, last quarter in 28.4.

 

At Yonkers Raceway, Iowa graduates Mnemonic and Searching For You competed in race one.  Searching For You (Jason Bartlett) trotted out for the lead from the five-hole while Mnemonic settled into the fourth position from the three-hole.  Searching For You cut the mile in 29.2, 1:00.0 and 1:29.0 while Mnemonic found herself double parked fourth at the three-quarter-pole.  Turning for home, it was an all out battle between the Iowa grads.  In the photo finish, Mnemonic captured the win in 1:58.4 by a neck over Searching For You, with an Iowa exacta paying $64.50!

 

On the west coast Friday (11/19) night, Artspire (Nick Roland) was impeded after the start from the seven-hole in race two.  Fifth at the quarter, Artspire made up lengths as they raced down the backside.  Third at the top of the stretch, Artspire paced his last quarter in 27.4, crossing the wire for the win in 1:55.1.

 

In race five, Frewil Dakota Sven (Nick Roland) had post position eight.  Parked fourth at the quarter, Frewil Dakota Sven raced on the outside until the stretch.  With a brush down the lane, Frewil Dakota Sven hit the finish line for the win in 1:54.1.

 

Cyclone Maximus (Jacob Stillwell) had the rail in race three at The Big M.  Leading the field around the track, Cyclone Maximus cut the mile in 29.0, 58.4 and 1:28.3.  As horses sprinted for the finish line, Cyclone Maximus held on for third in 1:58 flat, beaten out of it all by three-quarters of a length.

 

Pond Jumper (Drew Monti) jumped straight into the lead from post-position five in race four at Plainridge Park.  Trotting in 28.4, 58.4 and 1:28.0, Pond Jumper was up on the field by three lengths.  With the race in hand, Pond Jumper sailed across the finish line for the win, trotting in 1:58.2, last quarter in 30.2.

 

At The Meadows, race nine, My Money Honey (Brady Brown) drew the three-hole.  Getting away second, My Money Honey tracked the leader around the track.  As they turned for home, My Money Honey picked up third, racing his mile in 1:54 flat.
