Graduate Report 11-8-21 to 11-14-21

Nat A Cam (Todd Warren) kicked off the week for Iowa graduates on Tuesday (11/9) at Oak Grove Racing & Gaming.  Drawing the two-hole in race ten, Nat A Cam shot out of the gate to take the lead.  Fighting off Frewil Dakota Sven (Cordarius Stewart) as they raced past the half, Nat A Cam still held on to the lead by a head at the three-quarter-pole.  Pacing her last quarter in 29.1, Nat A Cam hit the board for third, her mile a blistering 1:53.2.

 

At The Meadows, two from the Brady Jenson stable took the track in race ten, Marced In Faith (Dave Palone) the two-hole and Shirley Skip Shady (Aaron Merriman) the six-hole.  Shirley Skip Shady sailed up to take the lead, pacing the first quarter in 28.2.  Relinquishing the lead, Shirley Skip Shady tracked in second, while Marced In Faith sat fourth as horses raced to the three-quarters.  Around the last turn, Shirley Skip Shady hit the finish line for second place, her mile in 1:54.2 with a hard charging Marced In Faith capturing third, her mile in 1:55.2.

 

Wednesday (11/10) at Harrah’s Philadelphia, it was Marced Debutante with David Miller in the bike.  Drawing the seven-hole in race eight, Miller drove Marced Debutante with purpose, straight up to take the lead.  Cutting the mile in 27.2, 56.4 and 1:25.3, Marced Debutante was up by a head as she turned for home.  Pacing her mile in 1:54.4, Marced Debutante settled for place as they crossed the wire.

 

Cyclone Maximus (Cory Stratton) had the six-hole in race three at Monticello.  Parked second by a quarter length at the quarter-pole, Cyclone Maximus took over the lead as they trotted to the half-way point.  It was a back-and-forth battle for the lead, as Cyclone Maximus and Skyway Tinacious (Michael Merton) raced the back half.  With the finish line in sight, Cyclone Maximus trotted his last quarter in 30.1 to finish second, his mile in 2:00.2.

 

In race seven, CR Blazin Beauty (Brandon Parker) didn’t draw much better in the Open Trot.  Trotting eighth from the eight-hole, CR Blazin Beauty could see the whole field as they raced to the half.  Double parked fifth at the three-quarter-pole, CR Blazin Beauty was gaining on the leaders.  Second as she rounded the final turn, CR Blazin Beauty was beaten out of first by only a neck, finishing second in 2:00 flat.

 

It was 2-3 for a couple of Iowa graduates at The Meadows.  First Gunner (Aaron Merriman) and Exhibition Day (Ridge Warren) competed in race three. Shooting out of the gate, First Gunner was parked for the lead at the quarter in 28.2, with Exhibition Day sitting fourth.  Holding their positions around the track, Exhibition Day waited until the top of the lane to make a move.  As trotters crossed the finish line, First Gunner held on for place and Exhibition Day hit the board for third.

 

In race six, Nutter Butter (Dave Palone) had the rail, but was shuffled back to fifth as they trotted to the quarter.  Parked second by a length at the half, Nutter Butter gained the lead as they raced past the three-quarter-pole.  Still up on the field by a length in the stretch, Nutter Butter gained the victory, trotting home in 1:58 flat.

 

RD Skippy drew the seven-hole in race eight.  Fourth at the quarter, third at the half, RD Skippy (Dave Palone) was parked second by a head at the three-quarters.  With a last quarter charge of 28.2, RD Skippy finished second, his mile in 1:54.3.

 

At Yonkers Raceway, race five, Bitty Bitty looked for a repeat visit to the winner’s circle.  With a two-hole position, Bitty Bitty (Jason Bartlett) got away third, sitting third until the half.  Parked by a head as she raced to the three-quarter pole, Bitty Bitty gained the lead and didn’t look back.  Crossing the wire in 1:53.2, Bitty Bitty captured the win for Its Only Money Stable.

 

Thursday (11/11) at Hollywood Gaming Dayton Raceway, Jumping Jillybean had the two-hole with Kayne Kauffman in the bike.  Tracking third at the quarter-pole, Jumping Jillybean protected her spot on the rail as she was shuffled back to fourth, by the outside horses.  Fourth turning for home, Jumping Jillybean paced her last quarter in 29.1 to finish third, her mile in 1:56.0.

 

Back to Yonkers, Mnemonic (Jordan Stratton) had the rail in the opener.  Trotting away third, Mnemonic waited until past the half to move on the leader.  Trotting her last quarter in 29.2, Mnemonic picked up second place, mile in 1:59.4, for owner Dan Roland.

 

Friday (11/12) at Plainridge Park, Pond Jumper (Drew Monti) didn’t jump the gate, but trotted out from the four-hole to take command.  Cutting the mile in 28.2, 59.0 and 1:27.4, Pond Jumper was up by a third of a length as they trotted for the wire.  Beaten by a head, Pond Jumper trotted his mile in 1:58 flat for second place, last quarter in 30.1.

 

My Money Honey looked to pick up a check in race eight at The Meadows.  As the gate folded, My Money Honey (Brady Brown) coasted into the pocket, sitting second around the entire mile.  Pacing a last quarter in 29.4, My Money Honey paced his mile in 1:55.3 to bring home third place.

 

On Saturday (11/13) SB Angelindisguise competed from the rail in race seven at Cumberland Raceway.  Third at the quarter-pole, he found himself parked out second from the half to the three-quarters.  With a hard-fought battle down the lane, SB Angelindisguise held on for third, his mile in 2:00.3.

 

Hot Day Cool Night (Johathan Roberts) raced from the three-hole in the first race at Rosecroft Raceway on Sunday (11/14).  Looking for the perfect trip, Hot Day Cool Night sat second, on the rail, as they raced to the half.  Still second as they rounded the last turn, Hot Day Cool Night paced his last quarter in 29.3 to finish second in 1:56.2.
