As I looked up results to see
How many Iowa racehorses
Finished one, two or three
Monday (12/18) at Monticello
With the rail in race one
Thinking Of A Card
Was looking to upset everyone
With Adam Moeykens in the bike
They shot from the gate
Leading at the quarter
And to the half in fifty-eight
Ahead at the next pole
Thinking Of A Card was racing very nifty
Charging down the lane
Winning in 1:58.3, she paid $12.60
On Tuesday (12/19) at Dover
Juneparker did race
Drawing the five-hole
In race three, FMNW1 pace
Sitting fifth to the half
Then pulling to the outside
Juneparker and Corey Callahan
Gaining with each stride
As they raced the last turn
Juneparker was hoping to score
Crossing the line in 1:58.2
She lit up third on the board
On Wednesday (12/20) at The Meadows
Filly and Mare trot, race three
Airmans Jackpot and Tyler Stillings
Thinking a pocket trip the key
Sitting second to the stretch
Airmans Jackpot was looking pretty
Overtaking for the win in 2:00.3
Her mile was truly gritty
Later in race eight
Looking to see who else was in
I spied I Turn Heads in the three-hole
With Brady Jenson
Fourth to the half
Then parked to the outside
Gaining first at the next pole
The wire she spied
It was a good effort
Racing hard to the end
I Turn Heads paced 1:57 flat
Earning a second place check to spend
Back to Dover on Thursday (12/21)
Imoutthedoor in race ten
Drawing the three-hole
Anthony Morgan driving again
Racing out to second
Sitting nose to helmet
Imouththedoor got a good trip
Give Morgan the credit
But as they raced down the lane
With the pedal to the floor
Imoutthedoor finished third
Pacing in 1:51.4
Race seven at The Meadows
Starting from the rail
Liar’s Last Squirt and Brady Jenson
Left the gate with a high tail
Setting the pace for the field
And eyeing the prize
It was a photo finish
Second place was finalized
Billy Eyelash and Hugh O’Neil
Post-position three in race four
Competed at Rosecroft Raceway
Located south of Baltimore
Third at the start
Sitting third to the half
After making a move
Second was Billy Eyelash
Trying to gain
With the leader she did combat
Billy Eyelash hit the board second
Pacing in 1:55 flat
JB Velvet and Aaron Johnston
Into race on Friday (12/22)
The six-hole in race two at The Meadows
Fourth, she got away
Parked first at the three-quarter
She was still top at the stretch
Trotting in 1:56.4
For a second place check
Iowa horses race big
No matter the track
Racing the fairs
Make them up for the task
While this week comes to a close
We are look to summer racing
When Iowa sophomores return
And freshmen start trotting and pacing
As I start to close my computer
With Christmas coming to call
I heard Tony, our track announcer say
“We race in May and Merry Christmas to all”
