Wins for Four

Iowa grads started the week racing in Kentucky!  On Monday (11/2) Minnie Vinnie started from the six-hole in race three at Oak Grove Racing & Gaming.  Getting away eighth, Minnie Vinnie (Tom Tetrick) crept his way up to sixth as they passed the half.  Still grinding, Minnie Vinnie was fourth at the three-quarters.  Taking the lead as they topped the lane, Minnie Vinnie paced a last quarter in 29.1.  Pacing the mile in 1:56.1, Minnie Vinnie captures the win for Jesse De Long, Thomas Carey and Rick Huffman.

 

Over at Yonkers Raceway, Slippin the Clutch (Jordan Stratton) had the rail in opener.  Cutting the fractions of 27.4, 57.2, 1:26.3, Slippin The Clutch was still on top as they headed for home.  With a quick last quarter in 28.4, it was all Slippin The Clutch as he crossed the wire, winning in 1:55.2.

 

On Tuesday (11/3) Ivy B Poison was poised to make her start in race two.  Drawing post position four, Ivy B Poison (Jim Pantaleano) got away second as they paced to the quarter pole.  Pulling to the outside, Ivy B Poison made a move for the front.  Taking over the lead past the half, Ivy B Poison held off all challengers as she crossed the line.  Winning by over a length, Ivy B Poison paced the mile in 1:56.1, last quarter in 30.2.

 

Roland N Rock was entered to race on Wednesday (11/4) at Monticello Raceway.  Drawing the two-hole in race four, Roland N Rock (Miguel Alejo-Hernandez) pushed the gate out of the way to take the lead.  With fractions of 28.1, 57.2, 1:27.2, Roland N Rock charged down the stretch, last quarter in 29.2.  Returning to the winner’s circle, Roland N Rock was victorious in 1:56.4 for owners Duane and Connie Roland.

 

Friday (11/6) Shining Jewels started the day off for Iowa horses at Harrah’s Philadelphia.  With the three-hole in race three, Shining Jewels (Anthony Morgan) sat third most of the mile.  As they turned for home, Shining Jewels flew down the stretch.  With only a head separating the two leaders, Shining Jewels hit the board for second, for owners Aimes Racing, her mile in a blistering 1:54.1.

 

Later that evening at Northville Downs, Bunkerhill Jill (Don Harmon) left from the four-hole in race five.  Parked for over half the mile, Bunkerhill Jill held on for third, pacing her mile in 1:59.4.
