The connections of CR Blaze wasted no time in dropping their filly back in the box at The Meadows.  Race nine, Wednesday (11/6), was all CR Blaze.  Driver Brady Brown got away second from post position three, but didn’t want the trip.  Parked at the half, CR Blaze accelerated to the lead, claiming the victory.  Returning to the winner’s circle, CR Blaze’s mile of 1:58.0 makes back to back wins for the filly.

On Monday (11/4), Snobbytown put in another blistering performance at Yonkers Raceway in race seven.  Leaving from post position seven, driver George Brennan charged from the gate to get in behind Shecandance N (Jason Bartlett).  Sitting in the pocket, Snobbytown tracked the leader, taking second place by a length, pacing her mile in 1:54.0.

CR Blazin Beauty traveled to Batavia Downs, Friday (11/8), to try her luck in race seven, the Open II.  As the gate folded, driver John Cummings, Jr put CR Blazin Beauty on top from post position five.  Setting the fractions of 28.4, 58.0 and 1:27.0, Cr Blazin Beauty was nabbed at the wire by Wheels A Turning (Denny Bucceri), finishing second by a neck, the mile in 1:57.3.

Iowa horses invaded the west coast as Cal Expo opened their racing season on Saturday (11/9).  Red N Hotallover started the Iowa roster as she took the track on race four, finishing a respectable third for driver Nick Roland and owner Ed Krapp.

The Marced Card gelding, Marced Magic, placed second in race six, the Open III.  Getting away sixth from post position three, Marced Magic (Nathan Sobey) pounded out the mile the hard way, pacing home in 1:54.2, beaten by a length.

In race seven, two Iowa horses hit the board, finishing second and third. Duane and Connie Roland’s Diamonds Are Trump (Tony Succarotte) left from the rail, cutting the mile.   June Morning (James Kennedy) snuck up to take the win, while Diamonds Are Trump held on for second, pacing her mile in 1:58.1.  Flash Me Baby (Nick Roland) flew down the stretch to get third, pacing the fastest last quarter in the race, 28.1, for owners Rick Huffman and Larry Mather.

In other news, Adriano Sorello announced that Jimmy Freight has been retired from racing.  The O’Brien Award winner will be standing in Ontario, Canada at Winbak Farm, starting the 2020 breeding season.  With a lifetime mark of 1:48.1 (at age four), Jimmy Freight has 21 wins, 13 seconds and 9 third place finishes, out of 52 starts, and career earnings of $1,457,405.  The 2020 stud fee is listed at $5,000 (Canadian) with multiple mare discounts.
